We love to say it’s always Beautiful in Sunny Sparta, Ontario. Saturday’s PTRA and Can-Am Race was nothing less than spectacular. Cool Air, Fast ETs, and good times had at St Thomas Raceway Park for the PTRA and CanAm Stock/Super Stocks.

EAST vs. WEST

In PTRA’s heads up class, the East vs. West we saw an all PSP final. Ryan Silva went up against Father Paul in the final round of East vs West. The giant trophy and bragging rights were awarded to Paul Silva, in his 94 Mustang.

NERD PICKLE .400 Pro Comp

Pro Comp, brought to us by Nerd Pickle on Saturday saw Chris VanBalen in his 86 Monte Carlo taking on our regular track announcer, Larry Satchell in is Racetech chassis dragster. The victory came down to the stripe, both racers had near identical reaction times at the tree. VanBalen took the win light and the stripe running .003 on his dial-in to Larry’s 0.299 difference of dial-in.

Drew’s Auto Body in Aylmer sponsored Saturdays .500 Open Comp category. The final pitted Chris VanBalen in his 86 Monte up against Jay Branning in his beautiful 1969 Dodge Dart. The race was decided on the Christmas tree. VanBalen got the reaction time advantage and the win light in Saturdays .500 Open Comp brought to us by Drew’s Auto Body.

Tom Craig’s Trophy Comp

PTRA Trophy Comp is brought to us by no other than Tom Craig. The finals of Trophy Comp, we saw Nate Cooper in a beautiful 1961 Chevy C10 going up against Tyler Stonham and his 83 Mustang convertible. Cooper got the reaction time advantage over Tyler, and at about the 1000 foot mark Cooper was around the Mustang of Tyler. Hard on the breaks, Nate Cooper took the stripe and is Saturday’s Trophy Comp Champion.

Smith Performance Can-Am Stock / Super Stock

Wheels up! Can-Am Stock Super Stocks put on a show once again for all of us race fans. Over 35 cars entered in Saturday’s Can-Am race. In the final of the main event we saw Steve Sack Jr in his 1985 Olds Cutlass going up against Robert Becker in his 87 Camaro. The race was done on the Christmas tree when Steve Sack Jr lit up the reds with a -.0010 reaction time giving the victory to competitor Robert Becker in the final of our Can-Am Stock / Super Stock Class.
